Alexandra Hervé moves to P4 in the Formula Renault Cup by TTE standings

Alexandra Hervé is in her second season in the Formula Renault Cup by TTE. At the moment when the competitors are taking advantage of the summer break, the analysis of the races she contested at the Val de Vienne, Lédenon, Paul Ricard and Dijon circuits shows the extent of the progress made by the 17-year-old from the Paris region at the wheel of her single-seater. She improved her best result in qualifying (4th), her best place in the races (6th) and logically her position in the championship standings in which she now occupies a superb 4th place. Her goal is to build on this progression curve to attract the attention of those in charge of the new F1 Academy Championship, who will be responsible for selecting the 15 candidates for the next season!

During each of the four meetings organised from April to July, Alexandra explored a path to help her progress. 2022 ended on a high note with her best result of the year in the Formula Renault Cup by TTE at Magny-Cours followed by her first podium finish in motorsport at Le Mans. At the beginning of April in the Val de Vienne, it was above all a question of finding her marks after five months without driving! She really got back in the groove at Lédenon setting competitive times and making a hard-charging comeback in Race 2 after a hectic first lap. In 2022, Alexandra didn’t meet with a great deal of success on the Gard circuit; it has since become her favourite!

She made a major step forward on the 5.8-km Paul Ricard circuit in the middle of June. She was in third place after the first practice sessions and as the weekend continued to unfold she achieved her best qualifying performance with the fourth-quickest time, which she transformed into two sixth places in the races – her best results in the championship.

Like Lédenon, Alexandra didn’t have very good memories of Dijon-Prenois. In 2022, she had struggled with a seat that was ill-suited to her morphology, and she suffered physically in race 2 on a circuit known to be particularly abrasive and very hard on tyres. This year was a different story! In the only qualifying session she set the sixth-quickest time and after retiring in race 1 (defective accelerator) she finished race two in the same sixth place. In Burgundy, the Hervé David Racing team driver clearly confirmed her progress in terms of her driving skills and physical fitness.

An experience in F3R

Alternating with the TTE meetings, Alexandra had the opportunity to race in two events counting for the Ultimate Cup Series’ Single-Seater Challenge. In this championship, the bulk of the field is made up of the F3R type Tatuus T318s, the car used in particular in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) and formerly in the W Series. Alexandra sums up her trips to Navarra and Hockenheim with the Formula Motorsport team: “The goal was to discover a new car, heavier and more powerful than the FR2.0, and two new circuits. I learned to really go for it 100%, to adapt to imperfect conditions and to push hard regardless. In the end, I think this experience helped me turn a corner. I realised that when I found myself back in my usual single-seater.“

The end of the season is looming and Alexandra has set herself objectives in three dimensions. She will aim for the Top 5 in the last three events on the TTE calendar, Magny-Cours, Nogaro and Le Mans. As indicated above, she will apply to join the F1 Academy whose races will take place as curtain raisers to the Formula 1 Grands Prix. Finally, in terms of her studies, one of the most multilingual drivers in the field will settle in the Turin Campus of the ESCP Business School! See you at Magny-Cours from September 22 to 24 when the series returns to action!
